Conrad Cave Counselling Service

From Pain to Purpose

Conrad Cave MBACP

Compassionate counselling to help you turn pain into purpose.

Conrad is a qualified psychotherapist with over 3,500 hours of client experience, supporting people through a wide range of life’s challenges.

My core training is in Person-Centred Therapy, which places empathy, respect, and non-judgment at the heart of every session. From this foundation, I also integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness, ensuring that our work together is always shaped around your unique needs.

I believe wholeheartedly that everyone has the capacity to heal, grow, and move beyond personal struggles. My role is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore what’s happening for you, while also offering practical tools and strategies when they may be helpful.

As a registered member of the BACP, I work in line with their Code of Ethics, with the utmost respect for your well-being. Alongside my qualifications and professional memberships, I remain committed to continuous learning and development—so I can continue to provide the highest possible standard of therapy.

Why Therapy?

Therapy offers a way to reconnect with your life’s true path. At its heart, it is built on trust and confidentiality, giving you the space to explore your experiences without fear of judgment.

My focus is to help you heal, gain clarity, and rediscover your inner strengths. Together, we create a safe and supportive environment where you can share your concerns openly. From there, I tailor our sessions to meet your unique needs.

Sometimes it feels easier to talk with someone outside your circle of family and friends. In counselling, you are free to express yourself — whether that means talking, reflecting, or simply sitting with your thoughts. I will listen, support, and help you explore new perspectives, always respecting you and your journey.

Therapy is most often one-to-one, but it can also take place with couples or groups when appropriate. Sessions are usually held face-to-face, though I also offer online therapy via Zoom for your convenience.

Depression & Anxiety

Feelings of depression, fear, or anxiety are among the most common — and most overwhelming — challenges we can face. They can leave you feeling drained, isolated, or stuck.

Through counselling, you’ll have the chance to explore these emotions in a safe, supportive space. Together, we’ll work toward regaining the motivation, perspective, and joy that may feel out of reach right now.

Substance Misuse & Addictive Behaviours

Recovery from addiction is not something anyone should go through alone. I provide counselling for individuals struggling with drug and alcohol use, gambling, pornography, and other behavioural addictions.

My approach is built on trust, compassion, and understanding. I offer practical support, resources, and non-judgmental guidance to help you take meaningful steps forward in your recovery journey.

Trauma & PTSD

Trauma leaves a deep mark, often resurfacing in ways that disrupt daily life. Whether through painful memories, anxiety, or patterns of avoidance, the impact can feel overwhelming.

Counselling provides a space to process trauma safely, explore its effects, and begin developing healthier ways of coping. With patience and support, it is possible to find a renewed sense of stability, safety, and hope

Mindfulness in Therapy

Why Mindfulness Matters

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment with openness and without judgment. In a world that constantly pulls us in different directions, mindfulness offers a way to pause, reconnect, and create space between our thoughts and our reactions.

Mindfulness written in script on paper

Research has shown that mindfulness can:

Reduce stress and anxiety

Improve focus and concentration

Support better sleep and physical wellbeing

Increase emotional resilience

Enhance self-awareness and compassion

By learning to ground yourself in the present, mindfulness can help you manage overwhelming thoughts and emotions more effectively, while fostering a deeper sense of calm and balance.

Why I Use Mindfulness in My Practice

In my work as a psychotherapist, I often see how clients feel trapped by racing thoughts, painful memories, or constant worry. Mindfulness can be a powerful tool for gently breaking that cycle.

I integrate mindfulness into therapy because it:

Encourages a calmer, more grounded mindset during difficult conversations

Provides practical coping strategies clients can use outside of sessions

Supports long-term change by helping clients respond differently to stress and triggers

Used alongside Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, and other approaches, mindfulness allows us to create space for healing — helping you move toward greater clarity, resilience, and peace of mind.

Location

I am based in Glasgow but by offering online & telephone sessions, it allows me to work with clients globally.

Our Client Promise

We are here to walk alongside you, every step of the way. Our commitment is to help you grow through your struggles, heal from your pain, and move toward the life you want to live.

Seeking help through therapy is a sign of strength, not weakness. It takes courage to acknowledge when you need support, and to take positive steps toward improving your mental health and wellbeing.

Through therapy, you’ll have the chance to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, confidential space. Talking openly can increase self-awareness, ease emotional burdens, and open the door to new perspectives and possibilities.
